TVS Launches Dazz Prime Scooter and XL100 Premium Moped

By |  Dec. 12, 2019 |

India’s TVS Motor Company, which entered the Philippine bike market in 2018, is adding to two bikes to its local lineup—the Dazz Prime scooter and XL100 Premium moped. The addition brings the total of TVS bike models available in the country to four, after the TVS Dazz and TVS King, which were launched back in 2018.

The two new models were launched at the ‘Street Stunners’ event and workshop held December 7, Saturday, at the Batangas Racing Circuit. The choice of venue for the launch allowed visitors and participants to take the bikes out for a spin around the course.

Letting people test-ride the new bikes can be a great promotional push for TVS, because if the bikes perform as advertised, riders can generate word-of-mouth marketing for the young entry to our bike market and help spread word about the presence of TVS in the country.

The new Dazz Prime is an automatic scooter targeted for the millennial buyers. It runs on an air-cooled 110cc four-stroke SOHC engine that provides 8.34 hp of power and 8.3 Nm, carrying a 5.3-liter fuel tank. The Dazz Prime is fitted with 14-inch wheels wrapped in tubeless tires, supported by a telescopic front fork and a single rear shock suspension.

Nifty convenience features include a USB charging port with cover, shutter key, spacious front pocket, bag hooks, and underseat storage. The Dazz Prime comes in three two-tone paint finish options: White/Red, Daring Black/Red, and Attractive Gray/Red. Sharp and stylish decals give the bike a more contemporary look.

Priced at PHP 59,990, the TVS Dazz Prime comes with best-in-class engine warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kms, whichever comes first.

The XL100 Premium on the other hand, is an updated version of the standard XL100, although it uses the same 99.7cc single-cylinder engine that powers the bike to 4.14 hp and 6.3 Nm of torque. The difference between the standard version and this upgraded bike comes mainly from added features, which includes a mobile charging USB port with cover. The XL100 Premium is marketed as a commercial bike, so that USB can come in handy when you have to charge your cellphone for your deliveries or transporting passengers.

For convenience and safety, the XL100 Premium comes with ES with i-Touch technology, sync brake, and LED daytime running lights. This TVS bike is also built for hauling cargo, so aside from using it as an Angkas ride, riders can also easily install different types of storage apparatuses, such as a storage rack for LPG and water bottles, an insulated box for food delivery, or a general cargo box. Premium styling and decals enhance the bike’s aesthetics.

The TVS XL100 Premium is available in three colors: Army Green, Metallic Black, and Vulcan Red. It also has a 1-year warranty or 1,2000 kms, whichever comes first. The TVS XL100 Premium is priced at PHP 36,990 while the standard model costs PHP 31,990.
