Overview
Built to adapt. Built for action.
The Insta360 One RS camera launched in March 2022, two years
after the Insta360 One R was released. The Insta360 One RS solves the conundrum
by making 360 shooting an option. Additionally, it functions as a traditional
action camera. A piece of gadget that can be used on an almost daily basis.
What’s more, it might be the perfect device for cautious creators of the world
of 360 videos. Furthermore, with the means to acquire an all-wide field of
view, the 360 cameras offer an attractive option for creators. These cameras empower
you to vlog, capture silky smooth footage around, and produce effective moving
shots. It also allows you to shots exceptional and trippy videos and more extraordinary
effects. Moreover, the 360 One RS is waterproof down to sixteen feet with an IPX8
rating (or more with the addition of optional accessories).

Designs
The 360 One RS camera comprised four major elements: a
module with a screen, a bracket that wraps around and waterproofs the 360 One
RS, a camera module, and a battery module. The secret here is the modular camera
and the fact that it can be swapped out to facilitate different functionality.
And when assembled, the 360 One RS camera is very much similar in look to a
conventional action camera.
This camera comes with 4K boost lenses, which is the usual
wide-angle lens in an action camera, the lenses along with Leica glass and a big
1-inch sensor, and the modular 360-camera. It also features the new 4K boost
lens and a core module that is consistent with the original One R camera. So, if you previously have that system with
the 360 lenses and/or the modular 1-inch sensor, then again you can upgrade at
a much lower cost.
Total flexibility. No compromises. The only action camera that shoots mind-blowing 360 and wide-angle action shots with just the swap of a lens.
Talking of enhancements, the new core module in the 360 One
RS camera comes with an add-on mic for superior quality audio recording. Added to
it is the faster Wi-Fi at 50% range, a digitally zoom function whilst recording
videos, and a smart menu system providing quick access to predetermined
shooting modes. All these functions are well-loved upgrades over the One R,
plus the superior performance of the new 4K boost module.
Performance
Though in slow motion the 360 One RS camera lags, the 4K boost lens module is otherwise an exceptionally capable action camera. The footage is better in quality to other current action cameras. Also, there is a new Active HDR mode designed to preserve details in the highlights and shadows while minimizing the ghosting issues often associated with HDR shooting. Moreover, the 360 One RS comes with a half-inch 48MP sensor, allowing you to capture footage at up to 6K resolution in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. In a more typical scenario, at a 16:9 aspect ratio, you can capture 4K at up to 60 fps. But unfortunately, there is no 4K 120 fps option, yet the camera can capture 100fps in 2.7K and 120 fps in 1080p.
The most interesting part of the 4K boost module was the Insta360’s Flowstate digital image stabilization, which can now be applied in-camera while shooting. Before it is needed to be applied while post-processing. Flowstate is exceptionally remarkable and yields extremely stable footage. Additionally, you can also shoot high-resolution 48MP still images with the 4K boost lens module.
Zero in on the action with the 4K Boost Lens. Rugged and durable, with a new one-half" 48MP image sensor for more detailed 4K 60fps videos and 48MP photos.
The 360 One RS camera is perfect for capturing everything that surrounds you so that you can capture multiple angles from one clip when post-processing. The film looks fantastic on a small screen. For viewing on your phone or tablet it is great, however, the resolution breaks down on large monitors and TVs.

Software and Connectivity
For a start, the wireless networking of the camera to the
app is effortlessly automated in a way that eliminates all the
frustration that typically prevented you from doing so regularly with other
cameras. Insta360 has designed a strong range of software for Mac and PC, in
addition to an Adobe Premiere integration and apps for Apple and Android
devices. Though both the computer software and Premiere plugin are great, it is
the mobile app that is quite incredibly stunning. It is especially handy for
editing as it is an easy and fun way of editing 360 footage, a much better way
of editing 360 footage than with a desktop. The creative tools for doing this
are at your fingertips.
For everything videos, you can simply adjust what looks like
tweaking the color, contrast, and filters. Moreover, you can add music, as the
app offers a selection of tracks. More editing tools include the ability to
slow down or speed up specific sections of the video. In addition, Snapshot lets you take pictures of a specific instant.
Overall, everything in the app is exceptionally easy to use
which is great when controlling the camera remotely.
Battery Life
Power through the action with the new 1445mAh battery,
now with 21% more capacity.
Batteries should last up to 65 minutes, One RS says, when
recording video at 5.3K at 30fps. That is significant as compared to the
GoPro Hero10, which can record 5.3K/60 fps video for up to 56 minutes. So, it
has the Insta360 One RS beat in terms of frame rates.
